Ryder’s Xchange Security Deposit & Insurance Policy

1. Security Deposit

Certain rentals may require a security deposit.

The deposit may be used to cover:

• Vehicle damage
• Traffic fines
• Late return fees
• Cleaning costs
• Missing equipment

If no issues are reported, the deposit will be released after the booking ends.

Refund processing typically occurs within 3–7 business days.

2. Insurance Coverage

Vehicles listed on Ryder’s Xchange may be covered by:

• The host’s insurance policy
• A platform protection plan
• The renter’s personal insurance (if applicable)

Coverage may vary depending on the booking.

Renters are responsible for confirming their own insurance coverage before renting a vehicle.

Some personal insurance policies may not cover peer-to-peer vehicle sharing, which may leave renters responsible for damage costs.

3. Insurance Excess

In the event of a claim, renters may be responsible for an insurance excess.

Example:

• Riders under 21 – higher excess
• Riders over 21 – lower excess

The exact amount will be shown in the listing or booking agreement.

4. Personal Property

Ryder’s Xchange and hosts are not responsible for personal items left in a rented vehicle.
